Founded in 2009, New Eastern Arts group is a vibrant ensemble consisting of members with diverse music skills and age groups. Our collective passion lies in the practice and performance of Chinese traditional music instruments, including Erhu, Sanxian (strings), Pipa, Guzheng, Ruan(plucked strings); bamboo flute, Suona (woodwind); and drums (percussion).
Over the years, we have established ourselves as a prominent presence in the local music scene, hosting our annual ensemble for nine consecutive years. These showcases have allowed us to share the enchanting melodies and cultural heritage of Chinese music with our community.
Beyond our annual ensemble, we have had the privilege of gracing the stages of numerous community activities, bringing the beauty of Chinese music to audiences of all backgrounds. These performances have served as a bridge, connecting different cultures and fostering a sense of unity within our community.
As a group, we are committed to preserving and promoting the rich traditions of Chinese music. We invite you to join us on this captivating musical journey through the power of Chinese music.

A fun and funky choir in Armadale, The Gospel Project sings a cappella music in gospel, jazz, world and contemporary styles. We began as a project – five sessions of throwing our voices around. From there we have grown as an ongoing choir for over 10 years. Some of our songs reach deep into historical stories of struggle and hope, some are original and written especially for this combination of voices and the concerns of our times. Hosted by the Armadale Community Arts Hub at Armadale Baptist Church, we rehearse weekly on Sunday nights at 7:30.
